Forty hours of painstaking mechanical and artistic restoration make each antique cash register a valuable historic treasure. The wood on the base and drawer are stripped, repaired and varnished. The beautifully polished cabinet is lacquered and baked in an oven to insure that special shine. The indication is silk screened exactly as it was when originally built. A new marble slab is custom fitted. The mechanisms are completely reworked using family heirloom tools. Key numbers are restored. All locks function and keys are provided. The counters add precise totals. If desired, these machines are adapted for commercial use. As a final touch, an "Amount Purchased" top sign is installed. Custom top signs are available upon request. |
